Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

  • 1/3 cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 lbs chicken breast, cubed

  • 1 red bell pepper, cubed

  • 1 green bell pepper, cubed

  • 1 yellow onion, cubed

  • 1-2 cups Cooked white rice (for serving at the end)

  • 10 oz canned pineapple chunks (reserve 1/2 cup of the juice)

Directions

  • Make the sauce first. To a small bowl add in the corn starch and apple cider vinegar whisk to combine the ingredients. Now add in the minced garlic, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, and the 1/2 cup of the pineapple juice. Whisk well and add this sauce into your slow cooker with the chicken, bell peppers, and onion stir well. Cook on LOW for 4-5 hours OR HIGH for 3 hours or until the chicken is cooked through. We like to serve this sweet and sour chicken over cooked rice (with lots of the sauce over the top)

  1. Yes…when do you add the pineapple chunks? I’m wanting to make this today.

  2. When do you put in the pineapple chunks?

  3. When do you add the pineapple chunks?

    • I watched the video because I had the same question. It was when she put in the chicken, bell peppers, and onions. When to add: Whisk well and add this sauce into your slow cooker with the chicken, pineapple, bell peppers, and onion stir well.

    • When did you end up adding them? Ive just put this on and added it with everything else haha

I just put this in the slow cooker and we can’t wait to eat it for dinner!
I just wanted to mention that it doesn’t say when to put the pineapple in. I assume it’s in the crockpot and not just for topping ??
Thanks for your videos. My 5 year old daughter is a huge fan, too hahaha

  5. This was very good. Mine needed 1 tbsp corn starch and 1 tbsp water slurry at the end to thicken sauce but definitely will make again.

  6. When do u add the pineapple chunks?

  7. Hi Julia,

Just wondering if the sauce ever catches on your slow cooker?

    Thanks,
    Eva
