Slow Cooker Apple Cider

Fall is coming upon us, and this Slow Cooker Apple Cider is the perfect fall drink to make for your family, friends, and gatherings. It is filled with whole spices and fresh fruit to make the most amazing homemade apple cider recipe.

It will make your whole house smell amazing the cider cooking on the warm setting throughout the day and is made with only a few simple ingredients.

So, if you love apple juice or apple cider you can get at the grocery store, then this crockpot apple cider recipe is one you need to make during the cold winter months! This might even be the best way to use your crockpot this fall.

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Apple Cider recipe:

How to make this Slow Cooker Apple Cider:

To a large-sized slow cooker add in all of the ingredients.

Stir everything together well.

Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours

Using a potato or meat masher, mash the apples and oranges in the slow cooker next add in the other 1/2 cup of brown sugar.

Cook the cider for 1 more hour.

Strain the seasonings, apples, and oranges out of the slow cooker using a fine mesh strainer.

Once slightly cooled serve immediately or chill for later.

How to store hot apple cider recipe:

Fridge: The easiest way to store this crock-pot apple cider would be in a leftover jug you might have, but you can also store it in an airtight container as well.

Tips and tricks for making your own apple cider:

Whole or ground spices:

Whole allspice berries, cinnamon sticks, and cloves are the best options for making this delicious fall drink. When you use the whole spices you only get the taste and not the texture of the spice when you use a fine-mesh strainer to finish the cider.

More add-ins for making this cold day drink for the Fall season:

Type of apples to use:

I enjoy making this recipe with gala apples because we enjoy the flavor of them best. However, you could also use Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, or any other sweet apples to balance the warm spices.

But, truly you can use a variety of apples, so if you don’t want to the grocery stores searching for the right apples, you can always use the ones you have on hand.
