Honey Garlic Pork Tenderloin Ingredients
I love making this pork tenderloin when I’m just sick of chicken. Anybody else ever feel that way? Sometimes I just can’t get myself to even look at another chicken breast, haha! Whenever I’m feeling that way, I like to make pork tenderloin. It’s a yummy but lean cut of meat that’s easy to cook and simple to season. It goes with so many different flavors.
You might be a little surprised at what’s in this one, but just trust the process. It ends up so delicious, and it only requires 6 ingredients that I’m positive you already have in your fridge at home.
- pork tenderloin (not a pork loin! pork loin isn’t nearly as tender)
- honey
- ketchup (trust me on this one)
- low sodium soy sauce
- minced garlic
- yellow mustard
How to Make Honey Garlic Pork Tenderloin
This recipe is so simple to make. All you have to do is make a yummy and thick sauce by combining the honey, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic, and mustard on the stove over medium heat. Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer until the mixture is thickened. A good test to determine if a sauce is thickened enough is to check whether or not the sauce can coat the back of a spoon. If the sauce slides right off the spoon when you dip it in, it’s not ready. It should cling to the spoon once you lift it out of the pot. This should take about 10 minutes, but may be longer or shorter.
After you’ve made your sauce, add that and your pork tenderloin to your slow cooker (you can find all of my slow cooker essentials here) and cook on low for 5-6 hours. The pork should be cooked through and tender, and you should be able to shred it super easily! I always cook pork tenderloin on low, not high, because I think it ends up more tender that way.
Serve your pork with rice or over mashed potatoes for a supper yummy and cozy meal. You can serve this with steamed or roasted veggies on the side for a well-balanced meal. I like to sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the meet for a fun garnish.
