Homemade Hamburger Helper

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
2 tbs olive oil
1 diced white onion
3 tsp minced garlic
2 tbs all purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
8oz tomato sauce
1 tsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp onion powder
1.5 cups pasta elbows
1/2 cup heavy cream
1.5 cups Colby jack cheese
Directions
- In a large skillet or pot brown the ground beef. Once its cooked through remove any excess grease and remove the beef to a plate and set aside
- Add oli to skillet and onion cook for 4-5 minutes or until the onion is soft. Add in the garlic and stir until it becomes fragrant
- Add in the flour let it become golden this will take about a minute. Slowly whisk in the broth and bring everything up to a boil
- Add in the tomato sauce, seasonings, and pasta stir well. Cover and let simmer for 10-14 or until the pasta is cooked. Stir frequently while simmering so the pasta cooks evenly and doesn’t stick to the pan
- Add in the cheese and cream let it warm through and let the cheese melt. Lastly mix in the cooked ground beef. Enjoy
