Ingredients for Hamburger Tacos

How to make Hamburger Tacos

To a small bowl add in the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, stir well, and refrigerate.

Heat a skillet or large griddle to medium heat.

Portion the ground beef out into 5-7 balls.

Sprinkle each ball with a dash of salt and pepper.

You don’t want to overcrowd your pan for this next part.

Add 1-2 ground beef balls into your pan (depending on your pan size) place a tortilla on top of each ground beef ball. Press the tortilla down to flatten the ground beef out to the size of the tortilla.

Cook for about 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the ground beef is cooked through.

Top with a 1/2 slice of cheese, sauce, onion, and lettuce

How to store leftovers for this ground beef taco recipe:

Fridge: Store all of the toppings in separate ziplock bags or airtight containers and then any of the ground beef taco meat can be stored in an airtight container also for up to 5 days.

Tips and tricks for making tacos with layers of crispy beef:

Favorite toppings for smash burger tacos:

  1. Sour cream
  2. Black beans
  3. Pico de Gallo
  4. Lime juice
  5. Nacho cheese
  6. Shredded cheese
  7. Shredded lettuce
  8. Relish
  9. Burger sauce (Trader Joe’s has a super delicious sauce that is perfect for these fun tacos)

The best meat for Big Mac tacos:

The best ground beef to use for this recipe is either 80/20 or 93/7 ground beef. However, you can also use ground turkey in place of the pounds of ground beef.

Shells to use for ground beef tacos:

This is based on your preference but I love to use warm tortillas for these tacos. But, you can also use crispy shells or corn tortillas too.
