Dump and Go Sausage Hash Brown Casserole is such and easy recipe to make up with simple ingredients all mixed up into one casserole dish. You can serve this as a breakfast dish or as a super simple dinner filled with comfort food.
I love making this dish for special occasions like Christmas morning. You can make it up ahead of time and have a prepared baking dish with an easy breakfast casserole to make the next morning.
This breakfast casserole recipe with turkey sausage, and melty cheese on top of the casserole to make for a perfect family favorite recipe the whole family can enjoy on holiday mornings or for an easy weekend breakfast.
Ingredients for Dump and Go Sausage Hashbrown Casserole
- Hashbrowns: use frozen shredded hash browns for this recipe, no need to thaw them ahead of time
- Sausage: I like to use pre cooked sausage for this sausage casserole recipe, you can use Kabasa sausage, Italian sausage, chicken sausage or any type you like
- Onion: You can use whatever onion you have on hand, but I normally use a yellow onion
- Seasoning: you will use salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and paprika to season the egg casserole
- Cheese: normally I use shredded cheddar cheese for this recipe
- Cream: to make the base of this sausage hashbrown breakfast casserole you will need sour cream and a can of cream of chicken soup
How to make this egg and hash brown casserole recipe:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
While the oven preheats, cut the uncooked sausage into half-moon shapes.
Add all of the ingredients except 1 cup of the cheese into a large bowl. Stir well.
Add into the casserole baking dish and bake for 30 minutes.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on the top and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
How to store smoked sausage casserole:
Fridge: Depending on how much of the casserole you have leftover, store it in the casserole dish with either its top of plastic wrap or if there is only a little bit left, cut it into pieces and store it in an airtight container and place it in the fridge for up to 5 days.

If you are looking to make this hearty casserole for an easy morning recipe, you can always prepare the whole casserole and place it in the fridge uncooked. Then the next day, just preheat the oven and pop the casserole dish in the oven for the original cooking time.
