How to Make Copycat KFC Famous Bowl
For the mashed potatoes, peel and dice the potatoes into small pieces. Make sure they’re pretty small or else you’ll have to cook the potatoes a little longer.
If you have an Instant Pot silicone steamer basket insert (it’s under $10 and so handy!), add it to the bottom of your Instant Pot.
Add the potatoes, water, and salt and pepper. Put the lid on top, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Flip the valve to quick release, and remove any excess liquid from the Instant Pot. Add the remaining mashed potato ingredients. Beat with an electric hand mixer or a potato masher until your desired creaminess.
While the potatoes are cooking, place the chicken on a sheet pan and bake according to the package instructions. Next, heat the corn on the stove or in the microwave. Do the same with the gravy.
Now for assembly. Once everything is cooked, assemble your bowls, starting with a large dollop of mashed potatoes, followed by the corn, crispy chicken, gravy, and cheese. Serve and enjoy!
