Ingredients
5 slices of Johnsonville Sausage Strips, diced (or regular bacon)
1 Tbs minced garlic
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup milk
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 1/2 cups diced rotisserie chicken
8oz penne pasta
1oz package ranch seasoning mix
Dash of salt and pepper
Directions
- In a large pot cook the sausage strips until they are brown (if using regular bacon cook the bacon through) then remove to a separate plate lined with paper towels, set aside.
- Add the garlic to the pot and stir around until it’s fragrant, about 20 seconds.
- Stir in the chicken broth, milk, chicken, pasta, ranch seasoning, and salt & pepper. Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked. Stir frequently while simmering. If the mixture becomes too thick add a little more milk in until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Turn off the heat add the shredded cheese and sausage strips (or bacon) stir well to melt the cheese and serve.
