BBQ Hot dogs w/ Broccoli & Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • 12 oz hot dogs OR smoked sausage, sliced into half moons

  • 12 oz frozen broccoli

  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce

  • 1 pouch dry instant mashed potatoes

Directions

  • To a large skillet on the stove over medium heat add the oil once hot add in the sliced hot dogs and frozen broccoli cook for 7-10 minutes to brown and cook the hot dogs and broccoli. Prepare the mashed potatoes according to the package instructions. To the cooked hot dogs and broccoli add in the barbecue sauce and stir well. Let simmer for 2-4 minutes stirring often. Serve the hot dogs and broccoli over the mashed potatoes and enjoy!

    Hi. Great stuff, as usual. Really enjoy your enthusiasm and I don’t know where you get the energy and time considering all you do plus the family. Anyway, my question is sometimes I don’t have frozen broccoli handy. Can you tell me how you substitute fresh broccoli from a cooking perspective? Thanks.
