Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1.5 lbs beef stew meat, cubed
2.5 tbsp all-purpose flour
1.5 oz packet McCormick Beef Stew Seasoning Mix
3 cups water
1 onion, diced
2 russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 sticks celery, sliced
2 large carrots, sliced
Directions
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the beef and the flour. Stir to coat the beef in the flour.
- In a Dutch oven or large pot over medium heat, add the oil. Once hot, add in the beef and sear on all sides.
- Add in the seasoning packet and 3 cups of water. Scrape the bits off the bottom of the pan. Bring to a boil, drop to a simmer, and let simmer, covered, for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Add the chopped vegetables to the pot and stir well. Simmer, covered, for an additional 30 minutes, or until the vegetables and meat are tender. Enjoy!

I did add some more liquid but it was phenomenal. The meat was so tender
This was so yummy!! I’m not sure why, but I needed to add 3 cups more water than what the recipe says because it was way too thick.
Made this tonight but in the crockpot and took the advice of not taking the lid off to check it. OMG it turned out so delicious.
