Ham and Beans

Ingredients
14 oz ham steak, diced
1/4 white onion, diced
1/2 lb dry 15 bean soup bag (half of the bag)
10 cups water (more if needed)
2 bullion cubes
Directions
- Rinse the beans in a strainer to clean them.
- Add the beans into a large pot on the stove with the onion, ham, water, bouillon cubes and half of the seasoning packet that came with the bag of dry beans.
- Stir well and let simmer covered for 2 1/2 hours stirring occasionally until the beans are tender, if the liquid line gets too low while simmering add in cup of water at a time until the beans are tender.

I made the Ham and Beans yesterday. The mixture was very thin and I did add exactly what the recipe said. I decided to put in 1 can of diced tomatoes and Hunt’s pasta sauce and it was thicker and delicious. The flavor was delicious but I still wonder what happened with the original recipe. I used the regular 15 Bean Soup Mix.
Can you tell me how you would cook this in a crockpot, please and thank you ๐
