For a great one-pot recipe and an easy weeknight dinner recipe, make this super simple One Pot Sausage Pasta recipe with only ground sausage, pasta sauce, dry pasta, and a few Italian herbs.

This pasta dish is such an easy recipe to make, that you can even use uncooked pasta added to the sauce, and a few more simple ingredients, and make a tender pasta dish in less than 30 minutes.

  • Protein: to get the best flavor use mild or hot Italian sausage
  • Sauce: get a jar of your favorite brand of marinara sauce from the grocery store
  • Carbs: I like to use pasta shells in this for variety, but you can use what you have on hand
  • Cooking liquid: you can keep this simple by just using water
  • Seasonings: you will need to have salt, ground black pepper, and Italian seasoning

How to make the One Pot Sausage Pasta:

Bring a large pot to the stove, turn the heat to medium heat add the sausage, break it up, and cook it through.

How to store leftovers of this Italian sausage pasta recipe:

Fridge: Scoop the remaining leftovers of the one-pot pasta recipe into an airtight container, put it in the fridge and save it for up to 5 days.

Tips and tricks for making this easy pasta recipe:

Type of sausage to use:

I like to make this pasta dish with ground sausage. You can choose whether you want sweet Italian sausage or spicy Italian sausage for this delicious dinner.

You can also use ground beef, ground chicken, or ground turkey if the entire family does not like sausage.

Can I make this creamy?

If you enjoy a more creamy sauce as opposed to a red sauce, you can always add cream cheese or heavy whipping cream (heavy cream) to the sauce once the noodles are done cooking.

Toppings to use:

  • Fresh basil
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

  1. Amazing recipe as always, you never fail me or my family. First time time ever leaving a review on a recipe.

  2. Super easy but delicious! My picky family asked me to make this a staple, and I definitely can’t argue, thank you!!

  3. Thank you so much for this recipe! We tried it just last night after getting home from running errands. It was quick, easy, and delicious! We served it with a salad and everyone loved it. Again, thanks so much for this recipe and the many others that we’ve gotten from your YouTube channel.

  4. Super easy and tasted fantastic. A little fresh parmesan cheese at the end put it over the top. I also loved the one pot clean up. The recipe will be added to my rotation of dinners. I might try with hot Italian sausage to spice it up a bit.
