How to Make Copycat KFC Famous Bowl
For the mashed potatoes, peel and dice the potatoes into small pieces. Make sure they’re pretty small or else you’ll have to cook the potatoes a little longer.
If you have an Instant Pot silicone steamer basket insert (it’s under $10 and so handy!), add it to the bottom of your Instant Pot.
Add the potatoes, water, and salt and pepper. Put the lid on top, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Flip the valve to quick release, and remove any excess liquid from the Instant Pot. Add the remaining mashed potato ingredients. Beat with an electric hand mixer or a potato masher until your desired creaminess.

While the potatoes are cooking, place the chicken on a sheet pan and bake according to the package instructions. Next, heat the corn on the stove or in the microwave. Do the same with the gravy.
Now for assembly. Once everything is cooked, assemble your bowls, starting with a large dollop of mashed potatoes, followed by the corn, crispy chicken, gravy, and cheese. Serve and enjoy!

We love the KFC Famous Bowls but don’t like to eat out very much. No idea why I never thought to make it but I am excited to make this. I shared your video with my sister who lives two states away from me. We are both making this recipe on Father’s Day for our husbands and I am so excited to compare how our families enjoyed it because I know we will. Thank you so much!!
Julia,
I adore you and your family, but I have to inform you that you have totally shaken my world to it’s core. I live in Corbin, KY where I have always been told the first KFC wad started here. We have a huge KFC restaurant/museum with a big sign that says “Eat where it all began.”
Thanks for the idea, the stir-ins measurements for the potatoes and the layering instructions. Fun to eat and my husband came back for 2nds. I made LOTS of equivalents/substitutions as I 1/3- sized the recipe. I used 4 servings of cooked instant potatoes, 1/2 C. of cooked frozen corn kernels, and a lower-salt version (dry packet) of chicken gravy mix.
Leftover potatoes & gravy reheated well as a side for lunchtime sandwiches.
