Ingredients
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
6-10 lb chuck roast
2 cups barbecue sauce
hoagie rolls
sliced cheddar cheese
Directions
- To a small bowl add all of the seasonings and stir to combine. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chuck roast. Place the chuck roast into a greased slow cooker and cook on LOW for 8-9 hours, or until cooked through and very tender.
- Remove the roast from the slow cooker and shred, removing any excess fat from the meat. Discard the liquid in the slow cooker. Place the shredded beef back into the slow cooker, add in the barbecue sauce, and stir well. Cook on LOW for an additional 30-45 minutes.
- Slice the hoagie rolls and place them on a sheet pan. Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and place slices of cheese and some of the BBQ beef on the bottom half of each roll. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melty. Enjoy!
