20 – Minute Honey Garlic Chicken

A sweet and savory sauce coats juicy and flavorful chicken. With just a few steps and minimal ingredients, this dish comes together in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenderloins or chicken breast

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

  • Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

Directions

  • Season the chicken on both sides with salt and pepper.
  • To a skillet over medium heat, add the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken tenderloins and cook for 4 minutes on each side.
  • While the chicken is cooking, add all of the ingredients for the Honey Garlic sauce to a small bowl. Whisk well.
  • Add the butter and garlic to the pan with the chicken and stir well until the butter melts and the garlic becomes fragrant. Stir in the sauce and let simmer for 4-6 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve over a bed of rice and a side of steamed vegetables. Enjoy!

  1. I made this last week. My husband and I loved the sauce. I did add almost 2 tsp. of Tabasco to the honey and warmed it in the microwave for a few seconds to make “hot honey” – this sauce was so flavorful and easy! The only complaint was the tenderloins were somewhat dry on the ends. So, tonight I am trying this again with boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I’ve been craving the sauce for days!
